JetSki

Winterizing the Jet Ski

1. Check the battery the day before to see if it is fully charged.

2. Connect garden hose to inlet at the back of jet ski, on the left side of the jet.

3. Start jet ski, turn on garden hose

4. Remove the rubber plug on the top of the air intake.

5. Turn off the gas supply using the mechanical switch on the right side of the hood.

6. Be prepared with fogging oil with a straw on the sprayer.

7. As engine starts to run out of gas, spray a few shots of fogging oil into the air intake hole, the engine should regain idle speed.  Repeat this a couple of times then let the engine die.

8. Turn off the water supply

9. Remove one spark plug and spray cylinder with fogging oil, put the plug back into the engine, loosely hand tighten.

10. Do the same with the second plug.

11. Place plug wires on grounding tips towards the back right of the jet ski.

12. Loosen water drain plugs and drain any water in the engine cavity by tipping up the front end of the jet ski.  Keep plugs out during storage.  Put a note on the handle bars reminding you to reinstall the plugs before placing back into the water (you laugh, but you either have done it or will do it sometime in the future.)

13. Add Stabil to the gas supply.

14. Remove battery and store in a warm place.

15. Inventory oil supply and buy new if necessary.
